The Book of Acts documents a spiritual explosion about to happen, the advent of the New Covenant!

Jesus fulfills the Jewish festival calendar. We have a great case for Jesus' divinity through predictive prophecy, His resurrection and from personal testimony. And finally, Pentecost changed everything about following God.

The early community of believers were distinct for their relational, reflective, God-centered, generous to point of sacrificial and unified nature of their gatherings.

While our culture often views confidence and pride synonymously, the bible gives us a different definition of spiritual confidence. Spiritual confidence involves humility, boldly declaring biblical truth, being filled with the Holy Spirit, serving God rather than man, and continuous prayer. 

Hypocrisy is a major problem not only in the modern church, but throughout church history. While we desire to conceal our failures and appear more spiritual than we really are, God's solution is for us to live in the light, under His grace, with a mission to please the Lord rather than humans. 

There is no such thing as a problem-free church. In Acts 5, the early church begins to face external threats of persecution and internal threats of division. Churches today will face the same problems, and we must take a stand to preserve the unity of our church. 

Saul has an encounter with Jesus that causes him to convert to Christianity. This drastic change in faith caused Saul to completely change his life and become a radical follower of Christ. While he lost his social standing, his money, and his community, he considered them to be nothing compared to the life and rewards God had in store for him. 

Peter broke racial, ethnic, and cultural barriers to share the message of Christ. Acts 10 shows us that God responds to spiritual interest and wants Christians to meet people where they're at rather than putting up unnecessary barriers to the gospel message. 

From Acts 18 and 19, we can take away five foundations of a spiritual movement: building one another up, leading others to faith in Christ, becoming equipped in the faith, completely committing our lives to Christ, and experiencing spiritual opposition.
