CCO Volunteer Guidelines

Sign-up to volunteer

Connect & strengthen our city by offering free clothing to families in need. Our ministry is a vital resource for many low-income individuals in our city. Moreover, we aim to foster connections, engage in meaningful conversations, and provide prayer to those who want it. CCO is one of the many ministries available through the Dwell Community Church.

Saturday

This volunteer opportunity is for our "shopping" hours when shoppers are able to select clothing, shoes and accessories for themselves & their families.

  • Volunteer hours are 9:30-12:00 PM. Please wear comfortable shoes & clothing. Volunteers will receive on-the-job training.
    • **Closed the last Saturday of every month.

Volunteer roles 

Team Leads will assign volunteer roles based on your preference and experience. 

CHECK IN: Check appointment time, create name tag, review guidelines.

GREETER: pass out bags, greet shoppers, fold bags.

FLOATER: Collects empty hangers, returns clothing from checkout, assists shoppers, collect 

bags from the check out area.

PRAYER: Offer prayer for shoppers, if requested. 

CHECK OUT: Count & fold clothing choices, add hygiene bags.

BASEMENT: Hang clothing on hangers to replenish shopping areas & help find requested items.

RUNNER: Take new items upstairs to racks.

HOSPITALITY AREA: Help register walk-in appointments. Pray with shoppers, if requested.

Wednesdays

This volunteer opportunity is dedicated to preparing the store for our Saturday shopping day. 

  • Volunteer hours are 10:00-11:30 PM, please wear comfortable shoes & clothing. Volunteers will receive on-the-job training.
    • **Closed the last Wednesday

Volunteer roles include:

  • Hang, tag, label and display donations
  • Collect and store new donations
  • Collect hangers and keep the store tidy
  • Clean the store & surrounding area outdoors

Group volunteering

Volunteer roles include;

  • Hang, tag, label and display donations
  • Collect and store new donations
  • Collect hangers and keep the store tidy
  • Clean the store & organize the donation area
