Hebrews begins by explaining the supremacy of Christ as our creator and sacrifice for sin. Paul warns the Christians to cling onto these truths and not to drift away from what they have been taught.
Jesus became human so that He could welcome us as members of His family and offer us eternal life. Hebrews 2 explains that God is not ashamed of us, He longs to be close to us, He understands us, and He does not want us to dear death.
A hardened heart is produced by focusing on people rather than God's word, creating a negative filter, ignoring the symptoms, and focusing on the past rather than the future. This can be counteracted by placing our focus back on God's word and meditating on scripture.
God wants to give us rest, yet many do not experience it. We can achieve this rest by trusting in His promises, reading the Word, praying under grace, and depending on Jesus.
The author of Hebrews calls on their audience to not grow dull in their faith. We can ask God for help to grow our knowledge and understanding of the Bible.
